I've always been passionate about supporting small local businesses. You know, the ones owned by people who are passionate about their business and the products they sell? I especially love ones that sell handmade items.

Debstar Designs is one of those small local businesses that I have supported in the past and will be supporting again in the near future.

This is the Starburst Retro brooch I bought from Deb a little while back.

I had seen a few ladies in the vintage scene wearing this beauty and knew I had to have one too.

Such a funky design and so versatile I can't begin to count how many times I have worn this brooch since buying it.

Mine is slightly different to the ones she is selling now in that the cabochon (black piece) is domed rather than flat on the top.

Like all of Deb's pieces, this brooch is beautifully made with the pin attached firmly to the back of the brooch base so there is no fear of it falling off whilst wearing it (like some handmade pieces I've bought in the past).

She also has matching earrings! 

She did release this style in red and I was so bummed I didn't nab them when they were available so hopefully she will release them again soon.

Sadly I recently dropped my brooch on the bathroom floor and the black piece has fallen off (thankfully it didn't break) but nothing super glue or a hot glue gun won't fix.
