Turning a dress into a skirt...

Nothing beats an item of clothing that is versatile - not only in being able to wear it casually or dressed up for a night out...but also versatile in the actual way you wear it.

Enter the halter dress!

This gorgeous little halter dress is by Hearts and Roses London

I loved the print of this dress so much with the striking red cherries and green leaves against the black background that I had to have it. However I have to admit that as I am not a massive fan of halter dresses I sadly had not worn this gorgeous dress.

Why am I not a fan of halter dresses?

a) because you need to wear a strapless bra with them (and I am quite busty)

B)  I tend to get a sore neck and shoulders if I wear a halter dress for more than a few hours at a time. I am not sure if this is due to the fact that I am big busted (which means I tend to tie it up rather tightly to provide more support) or if this is standard with halter dresses.

Then one day I was blog hopping and saw a post on Miss Victory Violet's blog where she converted a dress into a skirt so I thought why not give it a go with this dress.

 Success!

I wore the dress as a skirt out to lunch and nobody suspected it was actually a dress when they commented on how lovely the skirt was!

I didn't wear a petticoat with my dress as Miss Victory Violet did but followed the same procedure and it worked a treat!

Wearing the Hell Bunny elastic belt also ensured that the dress stayed tucked in.

I think I am going to have to try this with a few other halter dresses I have that have been stashed away in my wardrobe for far too long!
